This treatment will improve appearance of bulging and sagging below the eye. Incisions may be made just slightly below the lash line, and excess fat, tissue, or skin may be excised. If the skin has retained good elasticity, an incision inside the lid (transconjunctival) may be an option, effectively concealing any external scar. A lower lid lift does not necessarily improve the dark circles that may occur under the eyes and may require combining with another procedure, such as a chemical peel, laser or an injectable filler.
This operation can be done under general anesthesia, in combination with another procedure, or under sedation.
